Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Lesson Content
Primary schools
RSE lesson content has been divided into multiple 'blocks' of learning for each year group. Please note that while the advisory curriculum provides a framework, each primary school has the flexibility to tailor the delivery of these blocks in a way that best meets the needs of their learning community. As a result, the timing and sequence of the lessons may vary slightly between schools. Additionally, some primary schools may only use part of the advisory curriculum, while others use resources provided by other learning programmes such as Kapow or Jigsaw.

Secondary schools
RSE is delivered as part of a school's overall PSHE curriculum.Content is typically divided into 'blocks' of six lessons, which are delivered over one half-term. An entire academic year consists of six half-terms, and therefore six 'blocks' of lessons. For most year groups. there will be be between 2-3 blocks of RSE lessons, with the remaining blocks being used for other topics under the PSHE umbrella, such as citizenship, careers, and digital literacy.
Where possible (excluding content with copyright restrictions), all RSE lesson materials will be shared on this website (including PowerPoints, lesson plans, resources). Please bear in mind that while the content has been agreed across secondary schools, delivery may vary slightly depending on how the PSHE programme is organised in your child's school. If you are unsure how PSHE/RSE are delivered, please contact the school for details.
