Summer term 2024
During the summer term, secondary schools provided students with information relating to new legislation on the island. On 25th March 2024, the Sexual Offences and Obscene Publications Act 2021 (SOOP) came into effect on the Isle of Man, which is a wide ranging modernisation of statute law. It was considered that developments in technology, social attitudes, and priorities were such that a complete overhaul of sexual offences and obscene publication legislation was required.
Below you will find an assembly which was delivered to students in years 7-11, along with a parent guide to support further conversations with your child.
