Year 7 Drop Down Days have begun!

This term, year 7 students across the island will participate in a drop down day, focusing on the skills needed to ensure their high school careers get off to a positive start.

What is a drop down day?

Drop down days are ‘off timetable’ days, during which pupils attend interactive sessions led by external professionals. These sessions complement the knowledge and skills your child is developing in their regular PSHE programme.

Who Will Be There?

  • In a session with Isle Listen, young people will learn the importance of communication and trust through fun team-building exercises.
  • Pupils will discover strategies for finding a healthy balance when gaming and going online in an interactive session with Motiv8.
  • IOM Constabulary will talk to young people about pro-social behaviours and being positive, helpful members of their communities.
  • The team from Beach Buddies will talk with pupils about protecting our communities and looking after the environment and wildlife.
  • Area workers from the Youth Service will share the fantastic clubs and activities happening in the local area for young people to get involved in.
  • Pupils will learn good habits to help them thrive in the years ahead (and a story or two about local sports icons!) from the team at MSR.
